What happened to the AAFP's previous news publications?

They ceased publication the month before ANN launched in April 2005. Some news coverage from the discontinued FP Report and AAFP Direct was at that time "migrated" to ANN online. You can access earlier FP Report coverage (beginning with April 1996) by visiting the link below.
