Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services -- The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), formerly the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. CMS runs the Medicare program, Medicaid program, and State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) - three national health care programs that benefit over 80 million Americans.

Medicare Payment Advisory Commission -- An independent federal body that advises the U.S. Congress on issues affecting the Medicare program. Congressional Budget Office -- Provides Congress with nonpartisan analyses for economic and budget decisions and with estimates required for the Congressional budget process.
Government Accountability Office -- The audit, evaluation, and investigative arm of Congress. Charged with examining matters relating to the receipt and disbursement of public funds, the GAO performs audits and evaluations of Government programs and activities.
